County Government conducts public participation on the FY2024/2025 County Fiscal Strategy Paper

The Kitui County Government today engaged residents on the FY2024/2025 County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP), Debt Management Strategy Paper 2024 and the Model Intergovernmental Conditional Allocations Transfer Agreement.

Deputy Governor Augustus Kanani graced the forum which was being spearheaded by the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Revenue Management, led by CECM Peter Kilonzo, at Kefri grounds.

CEC Kilonzo was flanked by Finance Chief Officer John Makau and his Economic Planning and Budgeting counterpart Patrick Munuve alongside other senior County Treasury officers.

DG Kanani affirmed the county administration’s commitment to implement transformative initiatives across Kitui in its deliberate efforts to uplift the livelihoods of the residents.

“We are focused on fostering equitable development in our county in order for our people to enjoy the fruits of Devolution in line with Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s 16-Sector development agenda _*The Kitui Promise,” affirmed the Deputy Governor.

The baraza, which several Members of the Kitui County Assembly graced, presented wananchi, the business community, Civil Society groups, private sector, state agencies and other stakeholders a platform to interact with the set County priority programs to be implemented through the medium-term period 2024/2025-2026/2027 as outlined in the CFSP.

The participants were also appraised on the county’s debt management strategies as well as areas of projected partnership interventions for the FY2024/2025.

CEC Kilonzo said the forum reflected the county administration’s endeavor to foster an all-inclusive, accountable and transparent governance as well as compliance with the provisions of the Public Finance Management Act (2012).

Upon incorporation of views of the residents, the documents will be submitted to the County Assembly, which will conduct another round of public participation before approval.

Also present were other CECMs, Chief Officers and senior officers from the various County Ministries and Departments.
