In a daring move, Kitui County’s UDA Party Chairman, Hon Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai, urged Wiper leader Dr Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to reconsider his presidential ambitions and instead form a winning coalition with President William Ruto, eyeing reelection in 2027.

Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, recognized for his outspoken nature, expressed doubts about Kalonzo Musyoka’s ability to sustain a dynamic presidential campaign, suggesting potential financial challenges by the third day. Stressing the importance of strategic alliances, Mbai urged Kalonzo to unite with President Ruto for a stronger position in the upcoming elections.

A staunch UDA party supporter in Kitui, Mbai highlighted the fiercely competitive political landscape, emphasizing the need for leaders to unite for a common goal rather than pursuing individual ambitions. Labeling Kalonzo as a potential political underdog, he encouraged alignment with President Ruto for a more formidable political front.

Taking a swipe at Raila Odinga, Mbai asserted that the seasoned politician is unlikely to relinquish the political spotlight, emphasizing that a coalition with President Ruto would provide Kalonzo a more viable chance at electoral success

As political dynamics evolve in Kitui County and beyond, Nimrod Mbai’s call for strategic alliances underscores the perceived significance of collaboration in navigating Kenyan politics.

The question lingers on whether Kalonzo Musyoka will heed this call and opt for a collaborative approach over a solo run in the 2027 presidential race.
