Kitui County Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Haemophilia Clinic

Kitui County proudly inaugurated a state-of-the-art haemophilia clinic at the Kitui County Referral Hospital (KCRH) in collaboration with Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation, the World Federation of Haemophilia, and Kenya Haemophilia Association. *This clinic, a milestone led by Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s administration offers specialized services and marks significant progress in addressing haemophilia healthcare needs in the region.

Chief Officer *Dr. Benson Musyoka, on behalf of CECM Ruth Koki,* expresses profound appreciation, emphasizing collaborative efforts with the World Federation of Haemophilia. The positive impact on the local community is highlighted, ensuring comprehensive healthcare for those affected by haemophilia.

*Before the inauguration, Kitui County’s public health officers underwent intensive training facilitated by the World Federation of Haemophilia experts. Equipped with essential knowledge, these officers will now train Community Health Practitioners (CHPs) to locate haemophilic patients in villages, ensuring they receive the care they deserve.*

This collaborative initiative addresses unique health challenges, promising an enhanced quality of life and improved healthcare services in Kitui County. *Chief Officer Lynn Kitwan,* along with health officials, World Federation of Haemophilia representative Thomas Gowa, and Samuel Macharia, Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Kenya Haemophilia Association, graced the occasion.
