Hon. Nicholas Mulila, a leading aspirant in the race to succeed Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, showcased his commitment to community development and grassroots engagement through a series of impactful activities on Sunday.
The day began with Hon. Mulila attending the completion ceremony of the AIC Katheka Community Health Centre project, where over Ksh. 1.7 million was raised to finalize the facility. His support for the project highlighted his dedication to improving healthcare access for Kitui residents.
In the afternoon, Mulila participated in two church fundraising drives at ATG Kwa Vonza and AIC Kwa Vonza Township. The funds will aid the construction of modern church facilities. Addressing the congregants, he emphasized the pivotal role of the church in societal development
“The church is a pillar of strong families and a reliable, prosperous society. It is also a champion of socio-economic empowerment, contributing to the development of good schools and hospitals while being a source of hope and a voice
of reason during crises,” Mulila said.
He added, “We give not because we have plenty or for show, but as an act of thanksgiving to God and to support charitable initiatives that uplift communities.”
Hon. Mulila pledged to collaborate with leaders, stakeholders, and citizens to unlock Kitui County’s economic and social potential, ensuring prosperity for all.
The day ended with a luncheon at the rural home of Mr. Dennis, a respected figure in Kitui Rural, where Mulila interacted with residents in a meet-the-people tour.
