Kitui County Government has firmly refuted rumors alleging the use of multiple bank accounts for revenue collections. During the 2024 Agricultural Trade Fair, the Minister for Finance, Economic planning and Revenue Management Hon. Peter Mwikya Kilonzo confirmed that all revenue was handled through a single, official account, ensuring transparency and accountability from agriculture and trade fair.

Minister Kilonzo reported that revenue collections during the three-day event increased by 51% compared to the previous year’s trade fair. All exhibitors conducted their transactions through the official account domiciled at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).

The Finance Minister dismissed claims of different accounts as misinformation, affirming that all transactions were processed through the recognized Automated System and banked in the official Revenue Account.

Residents are encouraged to disregard these rumors, which are seen as attempts to discredit the transparency and accountable leadership of HE the Governor Dr Julius Makau Malombe.

Kitui County remains steadfast in its commitment to financial prudence and encourages the public to verify information through official channels.
