President’s Daughter Charlene Ruto Leads Shoe Distribution Initiative in Kitui South

Kitui South, June 3, 2024 – A heartwarming event unfolded in Kitui South as Charlene Ruto, daughter of President William Ruto, launched a significant shoe distribution initiative aimed at schoolchildren.

The programme will benefit about 1000 students from 20 schools targeted by the project. Rachael in her heartfelt welcoming speech congratulations the first daughter of the president for choosing the projects and thanks the CS for hosting her.

The event, part of the Zero Bare foot programme, saw the participation of Cabinet Secretary Penina Malonza and Kitui South Member of Parliament, Dr. Racheal Nyamai.

The distribution, which took place in Mutha and Kanziko wards, benefited numerous schools. In Mutha ward, the recipient schools included Kawelu Primary School, Itumba Primary School, Mwaani Primary School, Kivyuni Primary School, Mutha Primary School, and Winduma Primary School. Kanziko ward saw Simisi Primary School and Muthue Primary School as beneficiaries.

The event was held at Itumba Primary School, where Ms. Charlene Ruto served as the chief guest. Local residents warmly welcomed her, appreciating the gesture that provided much-needed footwear for their children.

MP Dr. Racheal Nyamai, who maintains close ties with President William Ruto, and CS Penina Malonza, expressed their commitment to continue collaborative efforts for the community’s betterment. They urged local residents and leaders to support President Ruto’s administration actively.

MP Nyamai extended her gratitude to Charlene Ruto for the initiative, emphasizing its positive impact on the children’s lives by ensuring they have proper footwear for school. Both leaders highlighted the importance of community support and solidarity in driving development and progress in Kitui South.
