Makusya Village, Yatta/Kwavonza Ward – In a significant boost to early childhood education, Hon. Mark Nding’o, MCA Yatta/Kwavonza Ward, facilitated the official handover of a newly constructed Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) classroom at Ngovu Primary School, Makusya village. The project, which was fully funded by the MCA’s office, aims to provide a conducive learning environment for young learners in the community.
The handover ceremony was attended by several key local figures, including Samuel Wambua, the KRC Sub-County Administrator (SCA); Alice Kimeu-Kioko, the YKV Ward Administrator; Mary Lulu, Makusya Village Administrator; Mr. Somoni, the Sub-County Public Works Officer; Gregory Kasaya, the area Chief; and the head teacher of Ngovu Primary School, Mr. Joshua Kilonzo.
During the event, Hon. Nding’o’s staff expressed his commitment to improving educational infrastructure across the ward, noting that projects like these are crucial for the development of the community’s future generations. The newly completed ECDE classroom is expected to serve dozens of young learners, giving them access to a safe and well-equipped space for their early education.
The local leaders present also applauded the initiative, emphasizing the importance of investing in early childhood education as a foundation for long-term academic success. The school community, led by head teacher Mr. Kilonzo, expressed their gratitude for the new facility, which is set to enhance the learning experience for both students and teachers.
