In a joint appeal, Vonza MCA Hon. Mark Nding’o and Tharaka Ward MCA Hon. Muthengi Ndakara have called on Deputy President Professor Abraham Kithure Kindiki to focus on uniting the country, with a particular emphasis on the politically divided Mt. Kenya region. Their call follows the recent impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, an event that has intensified divisions within the region.

Addressing the public, Hon. Nding’o stressed the need for national unity, encouraging Kindiki to serve all Kenyans beyond party lines. “The Deputy President should serve the entire country, regardless of political persuasion, and focus on uniting all people,” he stated, urging Kindiki to foster inclusivity.

The MCAs voiced their concerns about the mounting political tension in Mt. Kenya, noting that the current environment demands collaborative leadership to promote peace and stability. Hon. Ndakara emphasized the importance of dialogue, stating that it is crucial for building a stronger, more resilient Kenya.

Hon. Nding’o further highlighted Deputy President Kindiki’s role in supporting President William Ruto’s national unity agenda, noting that cohesive leadership would lay the groundwork for a prosperous future for all Kenyans.

These remarks reflect a growing sentiment among local leaders for unity and collaborative governance as Kenya navigates complex political dynamics.
