Ksh 40M Ngomano-Mwitika Phase 2 Water Supply Project Launched in Zombe/Mwitika Ward

The County Government of Kitui has officially launched the Ksh. 40 million Ngomano-Mwitika Phase 2 Water Supply Project, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring timely and high-quality project completion for the benefit of Kitui residents. This initiative aligns with Governor Dr. Julius Malombe’s water agenda as outlined in his 16-sector Manifesto._

Speaking on behalf of Kitui’s Minister for Water and Irrigation, Peter K. Nkunda, the Assistant Director for Water Infrastructure Development, Eng. Saidi Titus, emphasized the county’s dedication to enhancing access to clean and reliable water.

According to Eng. Saidi, the project will significantly benefit households in Mwitika, Kalukuni, Ndundumini, Ngaaka Yakwa etc, by incorporating key infrastructure improvements, including: Installation of a new pump and motor at the Ngomano sump well, Installation of a solar-powered pumping unit, Laying of an 8.3KM, 4-inch rising main pipeline from Ngomano sump well to Mwitika Market and Construction of a 150,000-liter steel elevated storage and distribution tank in Mwitika Market.

Local MCA, Hon. Malinga Munyao, commended Governor Malombe’s administration for its people-centered approach in project implementation. *He urged the contractor to strictly adhere to the Bill of Quantities (BQ) to ensure that the project meets the expectations of the Governor and the electorate in Zombe/Mwitika Ward.*

The event, held at Ngomano Shopping Centre in Kilaa/Katikoni Village, Zombe/Mwitika Ward, Kitui East Sub County, was attended by the County Water Engineers, led by the Assistant Director for Water Supplies Eng. Philip Nzula, Sub County administration officials, led by Sub County Administrator Jacob Muthembwa, Representatives of the area MP and other government officials.
