200 Needy Students Benefit from Kshs. 1M Bursary Grant During Memorial Service for Hon. Nicholas Mulila’s Late Father
A total of 200 needy students received bursary grants worth Kshs. 1 million, courtesy of Hon. Nicholas Mulila, during a memorial service marking 10 years since the passing of his father. The event, held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Mulila’s home in Kitui west was attended by over 1,500 people from across Kitui County.
Speaking during the memorial service, Hon. Mulila paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father, who he described as a hardworking man who defied challenges to ensure his children received a good education. “My father struggled as a kerosene pump attendant and a tractor turn boy, but he was determined to see us succeed. His sacrifices taught us the value of perseverance and hard work,” Mulila shared.
In a gesture of giving back, Hon. Mulila encouraged parents grappling with financial difficulties to remain steadfast in their efforts to educate their children. “The future is certain, and God has promised to bless our efforts. Parents, do not give up on your children’s education,” he urged.
Hon. Mulila also emphasized the importance of children supporting their parents once they achieve success, noting that such acts come with abundant blessings. “Remember your parents back at home. Take care of them. It is one of the greatest ways to show gratitude for their sacrifices,” he said.
The memorial service brought together leaders, community members, and local stakeholders who lauded Hon. Mulila’s commitment to uplifting the lives of vulnerable children in Kitui County. The bursary initiative aims to support students from needy families, enabling them to access quality education and build a brighter future.
The event served as a reminder of the power of community, gratitude, and the transformative impact of education on society.
