Kitui Central residents have urged National Liberal Party leader Hon. Kyalo Muli to contest the parliamentary seat in the 2027 general elections. The residents made their appeal on Friday when they visited his home, praising his contributions through the Kyalo Kya Maendeleo initiative.
The locals believe Kyalo Muli is the best candidate to replace the current MP, Dr. Makali Mulu, who is expected to run for Kitui governor in 2027. They cited his commitment to community development and leadership as key reasons for their support.
Speaking after the meeting, Kyalo Muli expressed gratitude for the overwhelming endorsement but did not confirm whether he would join the race.
Meanwhile, National Liberal Party leader Dr. Augustus Muli has announced plans to field candidates for various seats across the country under the party’s banner. The party, an affiliate of the Azimio la Umoja coalition, aims to expand its influence in the 2027 elections.
As the election period approaches, political realignments in Kitui County are expected to intensify, with leaders positioning themselves for various seats.
